Interlibrary Loan refers to the service where Western Libraries will try to borrow a book or obtain a copy of a journal article for you from another library.  Document Delivery refers to the service where Western Libraries will mail or copy and send to you materials that are already in the Western collection.  Document delivery services are primarily for students and faculty in extended education who cannot come to Bellingham to get library materials.  Both services use ILLiad to initiate and track requests.
