If you are citing a single map from a website, see page 210 of the APA Manual for another example.

Basic format for citing a map from a website:

Map Author. Map Title [Format]. (date accessed). Title of the complete document or site [map]. Scale of Map. URL, including the path and any directories necessary to access the document. (The date viewed)

 

Example:

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service [cartographer]. (July 12, 2015). Cahaba River Natural Refuge [map]. 1:24,000.
       Retrieved from http://permanent.access.gpo.gov/lps109506/

 


If you are citing a map found in an online periodical, the basic format is:

Map author. Map Title [format]. (year). Scale of Map. In: Article author. Article title, Journal title, Volume: page.
