There are no fees for using inter-library loan, it is a service paid for from the library operating budget. As a student you have already paid for the service indirectly through your tuition. Since there is a cost to the Libraries we ask that you be judicious in your use of the inter-library loan service, specifically when requesting articles from journals which have been published in the last 5 years. Royalty fees the Libraries pay for these items can be surprisingly high. Please request only those current articles that you really need.

If you borrowed a book from Western Libraries or through Summit, it is your responsibility to get the book back at your own expense and within the checkout period.  You can renew non-Summit items by phone 360-650-3084 or log into your inter-library loan account.
