You should make sure when creating your reference list that you include details that are specific to the edition or format for a book that you consulted. There are often changes to books between editions and formats and you should make sure to refer to the one you read. If you have a citation that you are copying from another source that refers to another edition, make sure to edit the information so as to not cause confusion for your reader.
