What you’ll see: Patrons will see a ‘Citations’ and ‘Cited by’ button for articles.

  • Citations: When patrons click the ‘Citations’ button, they will retrieve a list of the articles, chapters, and other documents cited in this specific article.
  • Cited By: When patrons click the ‘Cited by’ button, they will retrieve a list of search results for items that cite this specific article.
  • Citation Data Source: Ex Libris uses CrossRef for this feature.
  • Citation Search Results: Because OneSearch does not search all databases, patrons may not be able to retrieve all possible citations. We’ve included a disclaimer in the search results display to help educate our patrons about this possible limitation.

This feature is similar to the citation mapping feature found in article databases such as Web of Science (but provides a list of search results rather than a map).

Here is an example:

1. For generating a citation

2. For finding items that cite this source, and for finding sources cited in this item
