Great question!

  • MABEL is a central repository for discovery, sharing and preservation of Western's digital assets. Collections include digitized historical resources (oral histories, photos, videos), as well content produced by work units across campus.
  • Western CEDAR provides open access to the scholarship, research, and creative works produced by the Western community.

These two platforms have separate purposes and different kinds of content, and should be used together in complementary ways to support of the wide array of teaching, learning and research activities at Western Washington University.
