Q. How do I borrow books? How many books can I check out?

Faculty and staff can check out 500 items, students, courtesy, and alumni card holders can check out 100 and Whatcom One Card users can check out 10. To learn more about our check out limitations please see: https://library.wwu.edu/use/borrow

On campus in Bellingham, you will need your Western ID card. Bring the books with your ID to Circulation Services.

Non-Bellingham students and faculty can check out books by placing a request through the catalog. When making the request be sure to choose the mail to distance user option. Once we send the book to you it will be checked out to your account. You will need to use your W number to request the book.

The Libraries also has a number of ebook collections to borrow from! The checkout and terms are a little different on each platform and can vary by publisher, but all are accessible using your WWU credentials. Contact the Libraries using the information on the right for one-on-one support.
