There could be a number of reasons why this is not working. Here are a few to consider. You might be on a site that has features that prevent the copying of content. For example, if you are reading an ebook through a subscription service, it may only load a few pages at a time. Some learning management systems may prevent full text downloads as well, in which case you should try to open any files outside of those systems or download it to your computer and upload it to Zotero.

Often, however, it is because you need to reauthorize (or authorize for the first time) your Zotero connector. Follow these steps to get that set up:

  1. In your browser, find your Zotero icon and right click, or control click on a Mac.
  2. That should give you a menu where you can select Options or Preferences.

  3. Once you have the options up, click the "Reauthorize" button and log in with your Zotero account in the popup window.

  1. Hello, I'm having trouble saving to Zotero. I've reauthorized, reinstalled Zotero and extension and upgraded storage. I'm not sure what else to try. Can you help?

  2. @Chris: There could be a couple of different reasons why this might be happening. It shouldn't have anything to do with upgrading Zotero, though. My first suggestion would be to try another browser. You can use multiple browsers to add items to Zotero. So if you are having trouble with, say Chrome, try using Firefox or Safari. Another issue may be if there are admin restrictions on your computer. That tends to come up with some people who might be using devices issued by an institution. Finally, a good place to turn for more ideas is the community of forums Zotero runs: https://forums.zotero.org/discussions There may be someone else who has run into and gotten a solution to the same issue.
