Western Libraries Collection Services Updates

Updated 6/16/2020:

  • The Libraries has extended all due dates to September 23. If you have items checked out, we encourage you to hold onto those items for the time-being. Ife necessary, please return items to the Wilson book drop located under the Skybridge.

  • Western Libraries will remain closed to the public through the summer quarter and likely into the intersession preceding Fall Quarter.

  • The Libraries has suspended Summit, physical interlibrary loan, and circulation of physical materials until further notice.

If you would like to request we purchase a title in electronic format, please submit a purchase request via ILLiad and specify e-book as the format. We are happy to purchase electronic copies of books if they are available, meet other standard purchase criteria, and are financially feasible.

  • We will be suspending Summit, physical inter-library loan (articles online are still available), and print circulation through the quarter. This will give us time to assess what services are possible and reasonable given our infrastructure limitations. Related to this:

    • We will be removing the option to request physical items in OneSearch (including holds, ILL, and Summit).

    • We will be creating a new queue in ILLiad for physical requests so that we can communicate with you about delays.
