How do I create a library bookmarklet to reload an article with Library access?

Do we have a proxy bookmarklet for WWU? The bookmarklet would let me log into the off-campus proxy service without having to always start from the Library website.

Answer

A bookmarklet lets you log into the off-campus proxy service without having to always start from the Western Libraries' website. If the resource you are visiting is one that the library has a subscription for, then you should get you immediate access to the resource once you've logged in with your WWU username and password.

You can manually create a bookmarklet by creating a bookmark in your browser with the following code instead of a URL, as long as your browser and bookmarks allow javascript:

javascript:void(location.href=%22http://ezproxy.library.wwu.edu/login?url=%22+location.href)
